It has 1 position where it doesn't move and just throws the ball back to the same spot. The 2nd position the machine rotates every time the ball goes down. The 3rd and last position is the machine continuously rotates 180 degrees back and forth, throwing the ball to whichever way the machine is turned when the ball comes down. There is a timer so speed up or slow down the time between each throw back. There is a counter on front to keep track of your shots.

Wand included that goes on the rim to count baskets. Machine is large and heavy.
